As per JLL, the Indian hospitality sector continued to witness YoY growth in Q3 2023. Though several hotel openings were slotted, development activity is likely to pick up in this last quarter. Out of 59 hotels comprising 4,669 rooms, 12 are conversions of existing.

Amaan Kidwai is now ITC Hotels Area Manager for Luxury Hotels (North) & General Manager – ITC Maurya. Amaan has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing ITC Hotels’ operations in the Northern region of India while also helming operations at ITC Maurya, New Delhi. In his role as Area Manager, Luxury Hotels (North) Amaan will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across all ITC Hotels (ITC Maurya-New Delhi, ITC Grand Bharat–Gurugram, ITC Mughal–Agra & ITC Rajputana–Jaipur) and properties under brand Mementos in this region. An alumnus of IHM Mumbai, Amaan has an extensive background in Food & Beverage service and has steered transformative initiatives pan India. Amaan joined ITC Hotels as a Hotel Executive Trainee and completed the two-year management training programme at ITC’s Hotel Management Institute in Gurgaon. Since then, he has held various key positions at ITC Hotels Luxury Collection.         His career progression includes a memorable stint as General Manager, ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru where he effectively led the team through the most trying times of the pandemic before moving to a higher role in North India as Area Manager for Welcomhotels North and Sheraton New Delhi. With an impressive tenure of nearly three decades with ITC Hotels, Amaan brings a wealth of experience from across India. According to JLL’s Hotel Momentum India Q3, 2023, the six markets of Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, and Mumbai continue to display strong growth driven by in Average Daily Rate (ADR) on the back of sustained demand from corporate travel. Delhi leads with a 36% growth in ADR, followed by Hyderabad (22.2%) and Mumbai (16.7%).

Shiladitya Mukherjee, Associate Vice President – Gujarat Region, shared that after signing agreements for hotels in the North and East, the focus now shifts towards further expansion in the eastern and Northeastern regions. Additionally, the chain aspires to establish a presence in international destinations, planning hotels in Africa, Dubai, and the United States.   

Dusit International has signed HMA and RMA agreements with Ziogreen Private Limited to manage four properties in Karnataka. Slated to open in mid-2026, all four properties will have a ‘holistic wellness’ focus and will operate under Dusit Princess and Dusit Princess Residences.
