Indians spent US$ 12.6 billion in 2020 on international tourism expenditure and outbound trips: UNWTO

The UNWTO tourism dashboard highlights that Indians spent US$ 12.6 billion last year on outbound trips. While this is -45% from the previous year (2019) where Indians spent US$ 22.9 billion. In 2019, the expenditure per departure from India was US$ 851, this number is expected to be different in 2020. In order to better understand outbound tourism, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) launched a dashboard on country profiles with data on outbound tourism.

Swiss Airlines set to resume Mumbai – Zurich flights from 12th Jan 2022

Swiss International Airlines will be restoring the services from Mumbai to Zurich in India from 12th January 2022. The flights were suspended in view of pandemic developments earlier. “Provided all necessary approvals are obtained, we indeed plan to resume the Mumbai-Zurich route on 12 January 2022”, revealed Swiss International Airline official. The airline is to further expand its range of scheduled services next summer and will be adding six new destinations to its European route network.
