Indians say Thailand is top-quality destination for golfing break

Thailand continues to be a dream destination for golfers from all around the world. In a recent survey, more than 97% respondents from India reveal that they rate Thailand as a top-quality destination for a golfing break. Besides world-class golf courses, factors contributing to this choice include warm hospitality, value for money, affordable luxury and proximity to India. Vachirachai Sirisumpan, Director TAT, New Delhi, says, “It is expected that Thailand would be the first destination where the majority of golfers would travel for their first golf holiday post two years of COVID-19.”

Switzerland lifts entry restrictions for vaccinated Indians under all visa categories

The Federal Council of Switzerland has lifted entry restrictions for persons from third countries. This including persons who have been vaccinated or have recovered and do not have to produce negative test even when travelling from countries where the Delta variant is widespread such as India and do not have to quarantine on entry. Meanwhile, The Embassy of Switzerland in New Delhi is currently accepting all visa categories for persons arriving from third countries like India, who can prove they have been fully vaccinated.

National Gallery of Modern Art launches AV guide App

On the occasion of International Museum Day, the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi launched its audio-visual guide App, making it possible for museum lovers to visit the Indian modern art exhibited at the museum virtually. Available on both Google and Apple application stores, the App allows users to listen to narrations and take museum tours that are a mix of rich imagery, videos and voice. A web version of the App is also available. The NGMA App and tours are free for all users.

Vistara announces weekly flights to Tokyo from June 16

Indian carrier Vistara will fly to the Japanese capital Tokyo from New Delhi June 16 onwards. The weekly flight will depart from Delhi every Wednesday at 03:00 hrs, while the return flight will depart from Tokyo every Thursday at 17:50 hrs. The airline will fly once a week between the two capital cities under India’s travel bubble agreement with Japan. The airline will use its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with three-class cabin configuration to serve the route. This makes Vistara the only Indian carrier to offer the choice of flying Premium Economy class in addition to Business and Economy cabins. Vistara has also trained its cabin crew in the Japanese language to extend the warmth of true Indian hospitality to travellers from Japan. Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said, “Far East has been an extremely important geography for our global expansion from the beginning for its tremendous growth potential. We are delighted to add Japan to our international network, under the travel bubble and  look forward to providing the best of Indian hospitality while maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene for our customers on this sector.” Bookings for the flights are being progressively opened on all channels, including Vistara’s website, mobile app, and through travel agents. IndiGo launches door-to-door baggage transfer service, starting from INR 630

IndiGo has joined hands with CarterPorter, to launch ‘6EBagport’, to provide door to door baggage delivery service starting April 1, 2021 in New Delhi and Hyderabad. The service, which starts at a nominal rate of INR 630 for one way, will subsequently be launched in Mumbai and Bengaluru as well. Passengers can book the service from the comfort of their homes. The facility will enable passengers to travel worry-free as CarterPorter will transfer their baggage contactless from one destination to another with added assistance inside the terminal. Sanjay Kumar, Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, IndiGo said, “We are continuously striving to enhance our customer service and this collaboration is a step further towards providing a one-stop hassle-free experience. The service will bring relief to customers who may want to travel with additional baggage from home to airport or would like to go for a meeting directly from airport without carrying bags. IATO conducts 38th AGM, shares Budget expectations
