ITA Airways launches today new Washington – Rome connection

 Today, the Italian National Day, marks the launch of the new ITA Airways Washington Dulles – Rome Fiumicino direct flight. The inaugural flight, which departed today at 4:20 p.m. from Dulles International airport, was operated with the new Airbus A330neo, the first aircraft completely built according to ITA Airways’ new cabin design. To celebrate the launch of the new intercontinental route and the entry into service of the new aircraft, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the departure gate in the presence of Pierfrancesco Carino, Vice President International Sales ITA Airways, Chryssa Westerlund, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority, and Min. Plen. Alessandro Gonzales, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Italy in Washington.   To further underline the importance of the new connection between North America and Italy, ITA Airways was partner of the Italian National Day celebrations held yesterday at the Italian Embassy in Washington. On the occasion, the Ambassador of Italy in Washington, Mariangela Zappia, said: “ITA Airways’ new connection and plans to expand its network in the United States are important, long-awaited steps that bring America even closer to Italy and allow us to strengthen not only tourist flows but also the political, economic and cultural relations between our two countries”.   The Washington destination inaugurates the expansion of ITA Airways’ intercontinental network for the 2023 summer season and is enhanced by the introduction of the new Airbus A330neo, which made its first commercial flight today. Delivery ceremony of ITA Airways’ first Airbus A330-900 in Toulouse

The delivery ceremony of ITA Airways’ first Airbus A330-900 held on April 26, 2023, at the Toulouse Airbus Delivery Center in the presence of Philippe Mhun, Executive Vice President Programmes and Services Airbus, Christophe Molus, Senior Vice President Airbus at Rolls Royce, Alex Khatibi, Vice President Marketing and Commercial Affairs Air Lease Corporation, Riccardo Privitera, Director Flight Operations ITA Airways, and Francesco Presicce, Chief Technology Officer ITA Airways. Airbus was delivered to Italy’s flagship carrier the first fully configured A330neo for ITA Airways’. The delivery flight from Toulouse to Fiumicino will be powered by 16 per cent blend of sustainable aviation fuel. ITA Airways’ first A330neo further strengthens the airline’s strategy of building a fleet entirely featuring Airbus aircraft, with 68 currently in operation. The A330neo expands ITA Airways’ long-haul fleet and will enter operation in June to serve the airline’s new intercontinental destinations. ITA Airways signs agreement with Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

ITA Airways has signed an important agreement with the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) to ensure the connectivity to over 750 companies and IICCI membersbased in India. Through this agreement, the Italian flagship carrier will offer preferred fares for employees of those enterprises flying with ITA Airways between India and Italy, thus meeting the corporate travel needs of IICCI member companies. The partnership further strengthens ITA Airways‘ commitment to the integration and development of relations between the two Countries, which was enhanced with the opening of the New Delhi – Rome Fiumicino route on 4 December. The direct flight is operated three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday,and Sunday departing from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 3:50 am and arriving in Rome Fiumicino at 8:10 am. The return flight is departing every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:10 pm from Rome Fiumicino with arrival in New Delhi the following day at 2:00 am local time. Trade and investment between India and Italy are growing significantly. The direct connection from New Delhi to Rome and the partnership with the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will ensure a strategic contribution to the promotion of economic relations and cooperation between the two Countries. To enhance intercontinental network, ITA Airways launches Delhi-Rome flights

ITA Airways continues to enhance its intercontinental network to better meet the needs of travellers and will be opening its new direct flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi to Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome Fiumicino on December 4. The new route will be operated with an Airbus A330, three times a week, departing from New Delhi, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 03:50 am and landing in Rome Fiumicino at 08:10 am. Return flights from Rome Fiumicino will depart every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:10 pm and will arrive in New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 02:00 am, local time. With the new intercontinental connection, ITA Airways is further expanding into the Asian market, while it continues to strengthen the ability to attract connecting customers, tapping into the flows between India and North America, Germany, Spain and France. To support the new intercontinental flight from New Delhi to Rome and to enhance local awareness of the new Italian flagship carrier, ITA Airways is launching a multi-channel advertising campaign, which will highlight the New Delhi-Rome connection as well as the beauty of Italy and its most iconic destinations. The “It’s A” campaign will be live until December 13. It is developed on digital billboards in the most renowned shopping centers of the city, train stations and in all the main business and commercial areas throughout Delhi.
