Our target is to have net carbon zero footprint by 2050: Pratima Badhwar, Accor

The seventh edition of the M!CE Travel Show 2022 organised by DDP Exhibitions in Pune recently also saw a serious panel discussion on Sustainable Business Travel where panellists discussed the possibilities of reducing carbon emissions while travelling. Pratima Badhwar, Head of Commercial (India & South Asia), Accor, said, “Nowadays every hotel chain has its own sustainability goal. At Accor, our target is to have net carbon zero footprint by 2050. We launched a project in 2005 called ‘Planet 2021’ which is based on four main pillars: our guests, our owners and vendors, our associates and employees, and our community.”

India to get its second Raffles property soon: Mark Willis

Over 25 Accor hotels expected to open in India over next 3 years: Mark Willis

Accor adds India, Turkey in its Asia & ME region

Accor has added India and Turkey to its Middle East & Africa region. Under the newly expanded region would come a portfolio of over 84,000 rooms across 400 hotels. This regional expansion brings an increased pipeline of over 112 properties, scheduled to open in the coming 24 months, bringing the overall number of keys close to 110,000 rooms. “The addition of Turkey and India to our already diverse region means that we will be able to consolidate the existing relationship and work that has been accomplished over the years and centralize it into a collective effort. Accor’s new campaign tapping domestic travellers to start from Oct 1
