As Thailand prepares to re-open its borders to the World, TravelBullz and the Tourism Authority of Thailand prepares to welcome Indian guests back to Amazing Thailand. In the first phase of the destination re-opening, the Indian Travel League (ITL), a fun-filled quiz program aimed at engaging the travel agent community in India will focus on Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Khao Lak, Koh Yao Yai & Noi. The goal would be to generate interest, awareness and educate sellers about the destinations and hotel & attraction partners. Air India to open automated GDS refund from Oct 1; allowed only for one day sale in a week

Air India will be opening Automated Refund through GDS effective 1st Oct 2021, revealed the national carrier in a recent circular shared with the travel trade. “However, there is an out-flow limit been set –the total per-week refund for your agency is limited to average one day sale of the previous week. Refund of one day sale from weekly Sale/remittance is allowed,” mentioned the official communication.

MP offers land at 23 land parcels for tourism infra

Madhya Pradesh Government is offering land at 23 potential land parcels in selected locations in the state to set up tourism projects. The state is offering many attractive conditions through online bid process, which include long term lease for 90 years; the minimum reserved price is only Rs. 5.00 lakh per hectare in rural areas and Rs. 10.00 lakh per hectare in urban areas; 1% lease rent per year of the premium amount; and land can be mortgaged to avail loans. 20 land parcels have already been allotted to investors, well known groups like Mahindra Holidays, Orange County, Waxpole, State Express, Jehan-numa palace and Syna. 60% of French people are looking for long-haul destinations: Sebastien Sarrasin

Air Mauritius gets Rs12 billion govt funding to meet growing demand

As Mauritius re-opens international borders and tourism starts to rebuild post COVID-19, the government of the Republic of Mauritius is injecting Rs12 billion (US$280million) into Air Mauritius via a loan to provide long term stability for the company. Ken Arian, CEO of Airports Holdings Limited, the parent company of Air Mauritius said: “This new financial arrangement provides Air Mauritius with the stability to rebuild and play a central role in the government’s economic development and tourism plans. It is a vote of confidence in our staff and provides them and our tourism industry with reassurance for the future. Air Mauritius is an iconic global brand and will continue to provide short and long-haul passenger and cargo connectivity to some of our most important global markets.” Passenger and cargo flights will operate between Mauritius and Paris, London, Johannesburg, Mumbai, Antananarivo and Reunion with connecting services available globally. Additional capacity and international routes will be added to meet demand. Air Mauritius expects Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Perth to be introduced later. Domestic services to and from Rodrigues will resume in November 2021. As part of the new structure, the network fleet has been consolidated from 15 aircraft to 9 aircraft – 4 x A350-900 and 2 x A330-900neo wide-bodied fleet. Steve Borgia curated Tamil Nadu Police Museum opens in Chennai

The Tamil Nadu Police Museum at Egmore, Chennai, which has been curated by Steve Borgia, CMD, INDeco Hotels, has been opened to the public and was inaugurated by Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday. The museum is home to a number of artefacts, dating back to as many as 200 years. Some of the artefacts displayed in the museum have even been seized from sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, LTTE Prabhakaran. The building itself used to be the old Commissioner’s office of Chennai Police from 1856 to 2013. Now, the building was converted into a museum at the cost of Rs 6.47 crore. Steve Borgia, the curator of the state-of-the-art museum, stated that it is a commemorative way of appreciating the sacrifice by the state police force and their commendable job in maintaining law and order. “A miracle just happened. ITM 2021 to be held from in Nagaland from 28-30th November: Rupinder Brar

Ministry of Tourism is set to organise the next Northeast India International Travel Mart (NEITM or ITM) in Nagaland from 28-30th November, 2021. “It will be a physical event, and is scheduled just before Hornbill Festival, as suggested by the Minister. The idea is to benefit from the energy of Hornbill. Since the festival starts from December 1, ITM will be on 28-30th November and preparations are afoot for that,” she concludes.
