Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) will host its biggest virtual travel trade event “Travel Business Azerbaijan Online” (TBA 2020) on October 14. The online event will bring together local and international tourism professionals in hopes to forge partnerships and profitable business deals. The event aims to bring together 300 buyers from around the world.

Malaysia will block citizens of India, Indonesia and the Philippines from entering the country starting September 7. The restrictions will affect those with long-term passes, students, expatriates, permanent residents as well as family members of Malaysians. All foreign tourists have already been banned from entry since March and the same restriction has also been extended till 31st December 2020.

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) will conduct a destination presentation on Friday, September 4 at 11am that will have a special focus on the Gyeonggi region. Along with KTO, the webinar will also have representatives from Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and a DMC joining in from Korea for product updates. Young Geul Choi, Deputy Director, Korea Tourism Organization, New Delhi office, says, “Each region of South Korea has its own unique feature and characteristic. Kimarli Fernando, Chairperson, Sir Lanka Tourism has said that India and Middle East will be key source markets for Sir Lanka in the luxury tourism segment. “We are working on various touch points when to imrove our luxury products. Now we are focusing on identifying client to offer luxury rather than just marketing the country as a whole,” she said during TT ME digital conclave.

Almost 97% of Indian golfers rated Thailand as one of the best golfing destinations, according to a survey conducted by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) New Delhi Office & Sports & Leisure Worldwide (SLW), on ‘Golfing in Thailand’ with Golfers in India during 10-27 July 2020. It also revealed that majority of golfers, almost 88% are planning to travel abroad to play golf post COVID-19 and 92% kept safety as their prime concern for the outbound travel.

Thailand has topped the list of the world’s safest destinations to visit during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, according to a study by Germany-based travel company Tourane. based on various criteria including the 14-day notification rate of new COVID-19 cases and deaths per the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), International Health Regulations score, population density of the country, hours of sunshine per day for outdoor activities, and flight connections with Germany.
