Uttar Pradesh government is launching a special soft skills training initiative for people associated with the tourism industry in the state. To accelerate this initiative, the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) will conduct the training for a wide range of tourism stakeholders, including boatmen, vendors, tour guides, auto-rickshaw drivers, handicraft sellers, tour operators, and hosts of paying guest accommodations.

Uttar Pradesh government has approved 13 projects worth ₹118 crore for tourism development in Agra, including the construction of a memorial for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Additionally, Varanasi will also see development with 14 projects worth ₹74.31 crore. Projects include enhancements to Kailash Temple, Dariyanath Temple, Balkeshwar Temple and various other temples.

Maha Kumbh to attract 30 lakh foreign tourists as per revised estimation: Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

Union Tourism Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “The ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh is expected to attract 30 lakh international visitors.” He added, “Initially, we had estimated around 15 lakh foreign visitors, which does not include non-resident Indians. However, looking at the response we have revised this to double our earlier estimate.”
