In a bid to promote tourism in the hill State, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, launched border tourism activities at Shipki-La. He said, “We have eased restrictions for the tourists to enjoy the beauty of Shipki-La, and the tourism activities here would strengthen the economy of the local people, along with boosting tourism in the region.”  

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, is set to formally inaugurate the border tourism initiative during an upcoming two-day tour beginning at Shipki-La village. This move will allow regulated tourist access to strategically sensitive yet culturally vibrant destinations. The objective is to promote sustainable border tourism while ensuring national security and preserving the unique tribal heritage of the region.

To tap the tea tourism potential of the state, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, said that the state government is moving forward with plans to study the tea tourism model of West Bengal and frame a policy — which the stakeholders see as having a great potential to revitalise the tea industry.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, CM, HP,  said the government is considering framing a new tourism policy to increase the number of tourists by promoting lesser-known destinations. The government aims to footfall from three to five crore in the next five years.
